Curry basmati rice with vegetables and chickpeas

A complete vegetarian main course with a hint of Orient: this recipe with vegetables, curry and chickpeas is perfect for your lunch break. Mason jar cooking is the ideal technique if you are looking for a combination of taste and convenience!
  • 150 g Orogel Ethnic Vegetable Mix
  • 60 g basmati rice
  • 80 ml water
  • half tablespoon of spicy curry
  • 1 tablespoon of peanuts
  • mint leaves
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt
  • 2 tablespoons of chickpeas
Pasta and Rice Courses


  1. Rinse basmati rice and put it into the jar.
  2. Add water, curry and an abundant pinch of salt.
  3. Then add the vegetables, the pre-cooked chickpeas and season with some salt and a drizzle of olive oil.
  4. Put the lid on and microwave for 5 minutes at 600 Watts.
  5. Before serving, add the peanuts and sprinkle some chopped mint leaves on top.
